When to Fire Your Hairstylist and Protect Your Hair Health

Updated: Oct 20

Hello beautiful,

Let me tell you about the time I had to fire my hairstylist. I had been going to her for years she knew my head, she knew my installs, and for a long time, I thought nobody else could touch my hair. Then I started noticing little things. My leave out was thinning, my edges were weaker, and every time I took an install down, more hair seemed to come out than before.

I finally worked up the courage to say something. I sat in her chair and told her how concerned I was. Instead of listening, she got defensive. What should have been a simple conversation turned into a heated back-and-forth. That was the moment I realized, no matter how much history we had, I couldn’t keep paying someone who didn’t care about the health of my hair.

It wasn’t easy to walk away, but sometimes you have to protect your crown and your peace.

Now, I want to hear from you.

✨ Have you ever had to fire a stylist? Was it because of prices, professionalism, or your hair’s health?
